Direct cash cattle trade is expected to pick up today.  Bids are at $175 live in the South and $295 dressed in the North.  Asking prices are around $180 to $182 live in the South, while the North has kept them quiet.  There was a light, scattered trade that took place on Wednesday.  Live deals in the South were marked at $178 and dressed sales in Iowa were at $287 to $295.  But there wasn’t enough business to establish a trend.
