Ponds are getting dry as drought conditions worsen across Missouri and producers are hauling water to livestock.
The latest U.S. Drought Monitor says all of Missouri is dry, with more than 2% of the state in exceptional drought and USDA says stock water supplies short.
Missouri Ag Director Chris Chinn says hauling water to livestock is becoming more widespread.
“There’s definitely an uptick in the interest and farmers are starting to depend on it.”
Chinn says it can be a challenge to stay optimistic in the drought, even with rain in the weather forecast.
