A farmer in southwestern Minnesota says the mid-July rains are a welcome sight for the corn and soybeans.

Bob Worth tells Brownfield…

“We got our first really big rain in the last week, a 1.5 inch rain and a few days later there was a half inch rain with some hail. It didn’t hurt my crops, but it did hurt the neighbor’s crops. Things look a lot better than they did.”

Worth says the corn is at the brown silk stage and is doing well, but the soybeans are behind the usual pace for this time of the year.
