Direct cash cattle trade is picking up steam.  Deals in the South are reported at $180 live, $2 higher than the previous week’s business.  Dressed deals in Nebraska are around $295, about $3.50 higher than the prior week’s weighted average basis in Nebraska.  Both are fully steady with Thursday’s business.  Asking prices for what’s left on showlists are around $182 to $184 live in the South and $297 to $300 dressed in the North.  Look for some additional business to take place before the end of the day.
