Direct cash cattle trade activity is off to its typically quiet start to the week. Bids and asking prices haven’t surfaced as buyers and sellers are busy taking inventory. Significant trade volume will likely be delayed until midweek or later. The bulk of last week’s business took place on Friday with dressed deals ranging from $292 to $297, mostly $295, about $1.50 higher than the prior week’s weighted average basis in Nebraska. Southern live delas were somewhat limited and were marked at mostly $180, roughly $1 higher than the previous week’s business.
