Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of near- or below-normal temperatures in much of the West, while hotter-than-normal weather will affect some areas along the Pacific Coast and nearly all areas east of the Rockies.
Meanwhile, near- or below-normal rainfall across much of the central and eastern U.S. should contrast with wetter-than-normal conditions in southern Texas and areas along and west of a line from Arizona to Lake Superior.
