At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, live and feeder cattle were lower waiting for direct business to develop. October live cattle closed $.70 lower at $179.97 and December live cattle closed $.80 lower at $184.17. September feeder cattle closed $.35 lower at $249.77 and October feeders closed $.30 lower at $251.55.
It was another quiet day for direct cash cattle business. Bids and asking prices didn’t surface. There were some reports of some live trade in the North on Monday at $188. While that’s fully steady with last week’s business it isn’t enough to establish a trend.
