Crops in eastern Iowa have been suffering from the drought this summer.
Fred Abels grows corn and soybeans near Holland in Grundy County and says it’s been dry.
“We’ve gotten a little bit of showers to sustain us, but I just came home from Grundy (Center) and some of the corn is looking tough today. So I can’t imagine what it will look like next week when we’ve got those 90-degree days coming.”
Speaking to Brownfield Wednesday, he said his soybeans have been stunted by the lack of moisture.
