The Swine Health Information Center’s only Executive Director will retire at the end of the year. Dr. Paul Sundberg will leave the position created eight years ago by The Pork Checkoff. The organization’s Board of Directors moved to promote Associate Director Dr. Megan Niederwerder to Executive Director effective January 1, 2024.
Board Chair Dr. Russ Nugent says, “A person of Paul’s talents is not easily replaced, but we will all do our best to continue his legacy of SHIC success and the Board is very excited to have Megan taking us forward into the future.”
The Swine Health Information Center enhances the health of the US swine herd by minimizing the impact of emerging disease threats through preparedness, communications, global disease monitoring, analysis of swine health data, and targeted research investments.
