Waterlogged dry beans will limit harvest and yield potential in Michigan.

Michigan Bean Commission Executive Director Joe Cramer tells Brownfield saturated fields are degrading crop conditions and growers are increasingly concerned about white mold.

“There are certainly some fields that won’t get harvested,” he shares.  “There are some fields that have a large percentage of them that won’t get harvested, there’s nothing to harvest.”

He says crops in parts of Huron and Sanilac Counties look good but other areas around the Saginaw Bay are suffering after a wet July and August.
