Hot and dry weather continues to impact crops in Minnesota. USDA reporters say only 40% of the land has adequate moisture, while 39% is short and 21% is very short on moisture.
Minnesota farmers continued harvesting small grains last week, and several began chopping corn for silage.
Ninety-four percent of the state’s corn is in the dough stage, about a week ahead of average. Fifty-one percent of the crop has dented, and 2% is now mature.
