Direct cash cattle trade activity is quiet following Thursday’s business.  At least a little more trade is expected to develop today, more than likely steady with the week’s earlier deals.  Asking prices for cattle left on showlists are around $181 to $182 live in the South and $292 to $294 dressed in the North.  There was a light direct cash cattle trade that took place on Thursday.  Dressed deals in the North were $3 lower than the previous week’s weighted average basis at mostly $290.
