Direct cash cattle trade is off to its typically quiet week as buyers and sellers prepare for the week’s business.  Bids and asking prices have yet to surface.  It’s likely significant trade volume will be delayed until midweek or later.  In the North, dressed business last week ranged from $286 to $292, mostly $290, generally steady with the prior week’s weighted average basis.  Live deals in the South were at mostly $180, about $1 to $2 higher than the previous week’s business.
