Hurricane Lee will generally move northward, with landfall expected during the weekend in the Canadian Maritimes or possibly eastern Maine.  At that time, Lee should be undergoing an extratropical transition, but impacts in coastal New England may still include high winds, heavy rain, and a storm surge topped by large waves.  Meanwhile, showers associated with a cold front will end by Thursday along the Atlantic Seaboard; that front will help to steer Hurricane Lee away from heavily populated parts of the East Coast.
