Harvest is in the early stages in central Iowa.

Pioneer field agronomist Matt Vandehaar says some April planted corn and soybeans have reached maturity.

“So far the early reports are just trickling in (and) few are surprised by the yields despite the rainfall that we had to finish the season, but certainly a lot more to come before we kind of make too many assumptions.”

He tells Brownfield soybeans are drying down quickly and farmers are worried about lost weight and lost bushels.
