A central Illinois farmer says early harvest results have painted a bullish outlook for the corn market.

Joe Bloome of Morrisonville tells Brownfield he farms gumbo dark soils that are almost always too wet.

“So the fact that we had some drought issues makes me wonder what the rest of the country is going to look like. We are off 10 to 20 bushels here, so what is the rest of the country looking like that was in a drought too?”

He expects corn prices to go up as harvest progresses.
