Two Upper Midwest cooperatives are merging.
Members of Northern Country and Viafield voted in favor of a merger, and combined will employ more than 270 people and supply over 4,700 member-farmers in northern Iowa and southern Minnesota.
Northern Country CEO Jason Schwenneker tells Brownfield the new cooperative will be called Nexxus.
“What I want to make sure people understand and know, and this is employees all the way to farmer-members, owners, customers, patrons, so forth, our job is to not go backwards.
