The USDA reports strong export sales for several commodities during the week ending September 28th. Combined old and new crop corn export sales topped 2.4 million tons, nearly all of that to Mexico, while pork sales were up sharply from last week at 43,000 tons, mainly to Mexico and China. Soybean, sorghum, cotton, and rice also saw solid week-to-week improvements. Export business is influenced by several factors, including the strength of the U.S. dollar relative to other currencies and seasonal shifts in supply.
