At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, live and feeder cattle were higher, supported by strong gains in boxed beef at midday and the broader markets. December live cattle closed $1.30 higher at $186.67 and February live cattle closed $1.17 higher at $190.77. November feeder cattle closed $.57 higher at $@50.87 and January feeders closed $.72 higher at $253.77.

It was a quiet Friday for direct cash cattle business.  For the week Southern live deals were marked at mostly $182, about $1 lower than the previous week’s weighted averages.
