Largely tranquil weather will cover the country through the first-half of the week, although mostly below-normal temperatures in the central and eastern U.S. will contrast with late-season warmth in the West. Windy weather will accompany the warmth in some areas, especially on the northern High Plains. During the mid- to late-week period, a cold front will spark some showers across the eastern one-third of the U.S.—and help to reinforce the cool pattern, especially in the Midwest and Northeast.
