A low-pressure system currently crossing the Great Lakes region will intensify along the northern Atlantic Coast during the weekend.  Event-total precipitation in the Northeast should reach 1 to 2 inches or more.  In the storm’s wake, cool, breezy weather will prevail in the Great Lakes and Northeastern States.

Early next week, frost and freezes may occur in the East as far south as the Ohio Valley.

Much of the remainder of the country will experience warm, tranquil weather until early next week, when a Pacific storm system will arrive in the West.
