The president-elect of the Iowa Soybean Association says the use of cover crops is on the rise and it’s helping improve soil and water quality.

Brent Swart tells Brownfield more and more farmers are becoming interested. “Farmers are asking good questions about what benefit can it provide me, how can I use it to not only help increase soil health and decrease the erosion and runoff, but also to increase yields along the way.”

He says conservation will continue to be one of the association’s biggest priorities next year.
