Direct cash cattle trade activity is off to its typically quiet start to the week as buyers and sellers are busy taking inventory.  Bids and asking prices have yet to surface.  It’s likely significant trade volume is going to hold out until midweek or later.  Last week live deals in the South were at $183 to $185.50, mostly $184 to $185, $1 to $2 higher than the previous week’s business.  Dressed deals in the North ranged from $289 to $295, mostly $294, $2 higher than the prior week’s weighted averages.
