Snow will spread eastward across the nation’s northern tier, with the greatest accumulations (locally 6 to 12 inches or more) expected from the northern Rockies into North Dakota.  The combination of snow, wind, and low temperatures could lead to livestock stress and travel disruptions.  As cold air settles southward in the storm’s wake, late-week temperatures on the northern Plains will locally dip below 0°F.  Meanwhile, additional rainfall could total 1 to 4 inches or more from central Texas into the lower Ohio Valley.
