At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, live and feeder cattle were higher, watching direct business develop. Feeders had additional support from the lower move in corn. December live cattle closed $.80 higher at $179.42 and February lives closed $.65 higher at $181.50. November feeders closed $2.62 higher at $238.05 and January feeders closed $1.70 higher at $236.55.

There was a light direct cash cattle trade that developed in parts of Nebraska on Wednesday. Dressed deals were marked at $290, with a few at $291, $3 to mostly $4 lower than the previous week’s weighted average basis.
