Direct cash cattle trade activity is picking up.  There are a few bids that have surfaced at $180 live in the South and $290 dressed in the North with asking prices around $185 live in the South and $292 dressed in the North.  Packer inquiry continues to improve, and we could see some trade pick up as the day progresses.  There’s been some scattered business take place throughout the week.  Southern live deals have been at $180 to $182, $3 to $5 below the previous week’s weighted averages.
