Another relatively quiet start for direct cash cattle trade activity following the light trade in parts of Cattle Country on Wednesday. Bids have surfaced at $183 to $185 live in the North and $181 live in the South. Asking prices are holding firm for what’s left on showlists around $184-plus live in the South and $292-plus dressed in the North. Look for more business to develop before the end of the day Friday. So far this week, Northern dressed deals have had a range of $288 to $290, mostly $290, $4 lower than the previous week’s weighted averages.
