A strong cold front will fully clear the East Coast by mid-week, leaving much of the country under a cool, dry weather regime. Any additional rainfall across the South, East, and lower Midwest should total less than an inch. However, early-week snow showers will develop downwind of the Great Lakes. By November 1-2, freezes should occur along and north of a line from central Texas to central Georgia. Meanwhile, a gradual warming trend in the West will result in the return of near- or above-normal temperatures. During the mid- to late-week period, increasingly stormy weather in the Pacific Northwest will lead to heavy precipitation, mainly from the Cascades westward. Light precipitation will spread as far east as northern sections of the Rockies and High Plains. During the next 5 days, dry weather will cover much of the remainder of the country.
