Snow showers in the Great Lakes region will subside around the middle of the week. However, chilly conditions will linger across the eastern U.S., resulting in freezes on November 1-2 as far south as central sections of Alabama, Georgia, and Mississippi. Still, the cold pattern gripping much of the U.S. will gradually ease, starting with warmth in the West that will slowly expand eastward. Mostly dry weather will accompany the warming trend, with dry weather expected over the next 5 days across large sections of the Plains, Mississippi Valley, Southeast, and Southwest. In the Northwest, however, multiple Pacific storms will result in stormy weather, especially from the Cascades westward, but also including the northern Rockies.
