A farm appraiser says the widespread drought, lower corn prices and rising interest rates aren’t slowing ag land sales across the Corn Belt.
Jim Rothermich with Iowa Appraisal says the market is resilient in Iowa…
“In 2022, we had $20,000 per acre or higher sales each week and it’s slowed down some in Iowa, but we still get some high sales like that.”
The surrounding states have reported strong sales, including Missouri and the Dakotas…
“There was a 115 acre farm that had no development potential that sold for $34,800 an acre in Saline County, near Malta Bend, Missouri,” he says.
