Harvest is winding down in parts of southwestern Minnesota.

Tim Velde of Granite Falls tells Brownfield it was a difficult growing season.

“We started off the year wet, and then the faucet just completely shut off. We went for about a month and a half with absolutely no rain, got to the first part of August (and) had a real nice shower. And then after that we had a lot of .2 and .3, which doesn’t amount to much.”

He says yields are better than anticipated partly because of crop genetics.
