Another light round of direct cash cattle business is underway.  Live deals in the South are at $177, that $1 higher than Tuesday’s business and $1 lower than the prior week’s trade.  Dressed business in Nebraska is at $280, fully steady with Tuesday business and $2 below the previous week’s weighted average basis.   Look for additional trade to develop over the course of the day.    

Boxed beef is mixed at midday on light to moderate demand for heavy offerings.  Choice is $1.17 higher at $296.98 and Select is $1.78 lower at $266.99.  The Choice/Select spread was $29.99. 

At the Green City Livestock Auction’s Thanksgiving Special, several loads and part loads moved through the ring and sold with a higher undertone.
