An eastern Iowa farmer says the 2023 growing season was difficult to manage.

Lance Lillibridge, a past president of the Iowa Corn Growers Association, says a lack of moisture was the main reason. “We were really, really short on rain. We’re right in the epicenter of the drought. We had about five inches of rain for the whole growing season. All of those rains came in tenths of an inch.”

But he tells Brownfield he had a pleasant surprise at harvest.
