Many Wisconsin farmers were pushing to get crops out of the fields before the cold and snowy weekend.
USDA reporters say the corn for grain harvest is only 85% complete, close to the five-year average for this time of year. The average moisture content last week was 19%.
Wisconsin’s soybean harvest is 98% finished, as farmers prioritized the beans ahead of cold weather.
Ninety-seven percent of the state’s winter wheat has emerged. Sixty-six percent of that wheat crop is in good to excellent condition, up one percent from last week.
