An ag official says an expansion of trade relationships needs to be a priority in the coming year.

Grant Menke, Deputy Secretary for the Iowa Department of Agriculture, says free trade deals help producers add value to their products. “We’d like to see a little more ambition from this administration in terms of the trade agenda that we’re seeing.”

Menke recently returned from an agricultural trade mission to Colombia and tells Brownfield it was made clear that more agreements are needed.
