The new president of the Indiana Corn Growers Association says his crops this year were saved by light but sufficient rains during the growing season.
Chris Cherry grows about 2,000 acres of corn, soybeans, and wheat with his family outside of Indianapolis.
“Bean yields were exceptional, corn yields were even better than that,” he shares. “No one really can understand where they came from, except for to say we had timely rains, and we did get was at the right time.”
He tells Brownfield fertilizer costs are starting to come down which holds promise for margins next year.
