Aside from a short-lived blast of cool, windy weather early this week in the Great Lakes and Eastern States, much of the country will continue to experience warmer-than-normal weather.  As a storm system departs the East Coast, rain will end later today across the Northeast.  In the storm’s wake, snow showers will affect portions of the Appalachians and areas downwind of the Great Lakes.  Meanwhile, the focus for active weather will return to the West Coast, where a storm system will approach the Pacific Northwest before stalling, then drifting southward.
