At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, live and feeder cattle were up waiting for direct business to unfold and looking ahead to Friday’s On Feed numbers from the USDA. February live cattle closed $1.52 higher at $170.30 and April lives closed $1.15 higher at $173.82. January feeders closed $2.15 higher at $224.05 and March feeders closed $2.55 higher at $225.75.
Direct cash cattle trade remained quiet. Bids did surface at $170 live in the South and $168 to $170 live and $270 dressed in Nebraska.
