At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, live cattle were mostly higher and feeder cattle were higher ahead of the USDA’s On Feed report. There was also support from the stronger cash trade during the week.
Direct cash cattle trade picked up Friday afternoon. Live deals in the South were at $171, that’s $1 higher than the previous week’s weighted averages. Dressed deals in Nebraska were reported at $271, $3 higher than the previous week’s weighted average basis in Nebraska.
