A low-pressure system currently centered over the lower Missouri Valley will continue to drift eastward and slowly weaken. However, generally minor storm-related impacts—such as rain and snow showers, as well as gusty winds—will linger for the remainder of the week from the mid-South and Midwest into the East. Outside that storm’s large sphere of influence, mild, dry weather should prevail. Farther west, however, Pacific storminess will graze the West Coast States, with precipitation shifting southward into California late in the week.
