Remarkably quiet weather will cover much of the country for the remainder of the year into the first couple of days of 2024.  In fact, meaningful precipitation should be limited to portions of the Pacific Coast States, with the heaviest rain and snow expected across northern and central California.  Farther east, completely dry weather will prevail during the next 5 days across the Rockies and Plains.  Only light precipitation will fall in other areas, including the Midwest and Northeast.
