Direct cash cattle markets are quiet. Thursday’s trade was light, primarily at $172 live, up $1 from the previous week’s weighted averages, and mostly $272 to $273 dressed, $2 to $3 higher. Given the relatively light activity, there could still be some business left to be done, but many buyers and sellers might be fine just calling it a year. Asking prices for what’s left on the show list are $174+ live and $274+ dressed, with bids at $172 and $173 live and $273 dressed.
