December was mild for most farmers in Arkansas.
The USDA says that mild weather came with average rainfall and most of the state is reporting adequate to surplus soil moisture.
Still, more of Arkansas reports short to very short soil moisture conditions than this time last year.
Good fall weather allowed farmers to get prepared for spring planting and hay feeding by livestock producers is ongoing.
The USDA’s weekly national crop progress and condition reports resume in April.
