Soybeans were higher on short covering and technical buying. The recent rain in Brazil is expected to boost yield potential for later planted beans but is too late for part of the crop. Beans planted earlier were hit by hot, dry weather, with disappointing initial yields in most areas. However, it is very early in that harvest activity with a big chunk of the crop in key phases of development. CONAB’s new outlook for Brazil is on Wednesday, with updated USDA numbers Friday.
