A professor of avian diseases says the dynamics of highly pathogenic avian influenza are changing.

Michigan State University’s Dr. Mick Fulton has been following the virus since the late ‘90s.

“It’s becoming within the United States, starting to appear more like what Europe had gone through the last couple of years where they just have outbreaks all year round—and so we have concern about that,” he says.

He tells Brownfield poultry show signs of the disease in less than 24 hours from exposure.
