Direct cash cattle trade remains quiet. Bids have been slow to surface. Asking prices are around $174-plus live in the South and $275-plus dressed in the North. This latest round of severe winter weather could mean business won’t take place in parts of cattle country today. So far this week there’s just been some light business. Deals in the North have been marked at anywhere from $272 to $275, the lesser prices are about $2 below the previous week’s weighted average and the high end was about steady.
