It’s another very slow start in cash cattle country without even a token bid being renewed so far. Asking prices in the South are around $174 to $175, but still not fully established in the North. Significant trade volume will possibly be delayed until later this afternoon or Friday.

Boxed beef cutout values were mixed at midday. Choice was down $1.54 at $296.91 and Select was $.23 higher at $283.25. The Choice/Select spread was $13.66.
