Chicago Mercantile Exchange live and feeder cattle futures were mostly lower ahead of widespread direct business and the USDA’s Cattle on Feed report, which was out after the close. February live was $.45 lower at $174.37 and April was down $.27 at $177.37. March feeders were down $.60 at $231.95 and April was $.27 lower at $237.47.
Some light trade was reported in cash cattle country on Friday in parts of Nebraska at $274, roughly $1 higher than the previous week’s weighted average.
