At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, live and feeder cattle were up, optimistic about this week’s direct business. February live cattle closed $.87 higher at $174.65 and April lives closed $.92 higher at $177.82. March feeder cattle closed $2.37 higher at $233.65 and April feeders closed $2.45 higher at $239.55.
Direct cash cattle trade was quiet again Tuesday. Bids and asking prices didn’t surface. It’s likely significant trade volume is going to be delayed until the back half of the week.
