A western Iowa farmer says he hopes some recent winter precipitation has helped his soils.

Kevin Ross tells Brownfield his area has received a favorable amount of snow this month. “We started out awful dry and it didn’t feel much like winter really until the last three weeks or so.”

He says the moisture could help early planted crops this spring. “I think it definitely gives a little bit of optimism for moisture levels.
